Following the worship service, the congregation will march in procession to the Otley Hall at Jaffna College where a public meeting will be held under the chairmanship of the Rev A Mathanarajah, missionary and presbyter in charge of the Colombo Church.
A fellowship lunch will follow and in the afternoon there will be a variety programme of music, dances and skits in which a number of children and young people will participate.
The first of these festivals took place October 10, 1947 soon after the Church of South India came into being and on that occasion, the saintly bishop, the Rt Rev Dr Sabapathy Kulandran was enthroned as the Bishop of the Jaffna Diocese of the Church of South India.
